- Training Courses
Stage 1 Shinnick Depression Training – 1 day training.
On this training you’ll learn the skills used with clients to coach them through the process of coming out of being depressed. You’ll get to experience and practice using this process. You’ll also learn the various medically aligned assessments we use. These forms will form part of your practice model for use in client sessions and for sending through to GP’s.
Your clients will typically report feeling in control of their emotions immediately following the session. In 1-2 hours of client sessions you will typically have the client transition from not feeling in control of their emotions to feeling in control. They will transition from not feeling good to feeling good. You’ll see them in a follow up appointment to check progress and reinforce learnings. This process is often a profound experience for clients. Most clients only need or have the Stage 1 treatment.
Certified Practitioner, Stage 1
– How to coach clients experientially through how they do depression and how to not do it
– In most cases clients walk out of a 2 hour session feeling in control of their lives
– A GP trained in this process found in the first 12 clients he ran this with all were fully remitted from depression
– Practitioners are reporting success rates over 70%
– One practitioner booked in 10 depression clients for immediately after the course
– Clients come back for other work and refer others
– This training is for anyone working with clients with depression or wanting to work with them.

In this training I’ll be teaching how I work with children, how to change NLP processes to work with children, when parents should be there, how to deal with things like anger, ADHD, eating problems, communication, reading, writing, fears etc. Treating Depression, Anxiety and Dyslexia is covered in other trainings we run. Thank you, Des Shinnick- About Certified Practitioner & Certified Practice
We are setting a standard for Practitioners and Practices. The reason for this is to ensure a specific level of skill and performance for clients and medical referrals. Practitioners also benefit from these standards being applied. We are currently getting referrals from the medical community.
Certified Practitioner: A person trained, tested and certified in using the Shinnick Method for Rapid Depression Treatment. They are listed with us as being available for employment. They may be registered as a Certified Practice as below.
Certified Practice: A practice space that meets specific standards for the benefit of clients and referrals from the medical community. Certified Practices must, employ the services of a Certified Practitioner, have a professional space for seeing clients such as professional rooms or home office, a practice specific phone or answerphone, business cards and brochures (we can supply the later if necessary). We will support Certified Practices in communicating with the medical community for referrals. We believe applying these standards benefits all Certified Practitioners and Certified Practices. Certified Practices are listed on our website as being available to see clients and accept medical referrals.
Existing Practices are currently registered EAP providers and have referrals from medical practices. Collectively as we grow we expect the level of support from the medical community to increase and for there to be more funded work for Certified Practices.
